This position offers the opportunity to join a long-established contractor delivering a broad portfolio of rail, civils, and multi-disciplinary infrastructure works across London. You will play a central role in the day-to-day engineering management of live works, ensuring designs are correctly interpreted, standards are met, and construction activities progress safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, sequencing, and delivery of rail and civils works across ongoing project packages.
  • Interpret design information, raise technical queries, and ensure accurate implementation on site.
  • Coordinate with design teams, project managers, site supervisors, and client engineers to maintain clear communication and alignment.
  • Ensure works comply with industry standards, safety requirements, and relevant project specifications.
  • Assist in managing quality assurance processes, including ITPs, surveys, inspections, and handover documentation.
  • Identify potential risks, interface issues, and value-engineering opportunities.
  • Contribute to progress reporting, construction planning, and programme updates.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer within rail, infrastructure, or civils environments.
  • Strong understanding of rail standards, safety protocols, and multi-disciplinary site coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with confidence.
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, solution-focused approach.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a live construction setting.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
  • Experience working on London Underground or Network Rail projects is highly desirable.
