As part of continued growth, the business is now looking to appoint a Planner to join its Preconstruction team.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner to play a key role in supporting preconstruction activities across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working closely with estimating, operational, commercial, and bid teams, you will be responsible for developing and managing robust programmes that support successful tender submissions and project delivery strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop tender and preconstruction programmes for demolition, enabling works, remediation, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects
- Work collaboratively with bid, estimating, commercial, and operational teams to develop practical and deliverable project sequences
- Produce detailed critical path analyses and identify project risks and opportunities
- Support methodology development and phasing strategies during bid submissions
- Assist with resource and logistics planning to ensure realistic project delivery assumptions
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners where required
- Review project information, technical documentation, and scope requirements to ensure programme accuracy
- Support live projects where necessary with programme updates and reporting
- Ensure programmes align with contractual obligations and project milestones
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the planning and preconstruction functions
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Planner within construction, civil engineering, demolition, infrastructure, or enabling works sectors
- Strong understanding of preconstruction and tender-stage planning activities
- Ideally experienced working with NEC contracts
- Proficient in Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Able to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is advantageous
