The Opportunity
As Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive and commercially sound estimates for RC frame and groundworks projects. You will work closely with the Commercial Director, Project Managers, and site teams to analyse tender information, build cost models, and support bid strategy. This role offers strong career progression for a driven estimator looking to develop within a successful contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for RC frame and groundworks projects based on drawings, specifications, and design information
- Produce accurate take-offs, quantification, and cost build-ups
- Analyse risks and develop robust commercial submissions
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to obtain competitive pricing
- Work closely with the commercial and project teams to support bid development and strategy
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost data, and bid records
- Assist with post-tender cost analysis and value engineering initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' estimating experience with direct exposure to RC frame and groundworks projects
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency with measuring software, MS Excel and estimating tools
- Degree or HNC/HND in quantity surveying, construction management, or related discipline (desirable)
