OCS are working with a leading multi-utility and civil engineering contractor that is looking to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor to cover a busy regional portfolio of projects, primarily based in and around Cambridge, with additional sites extending up to King\’s Lynn and down to Southend-on-Sea. This is a key regional role supporting approximately 30 live sites, making it ideal for a proactive, site-focused Health & Safety professional who enjoys variety, autonomy, and regular engagement with operational teams.
The RoleAs Health & Safety Advisor, you will work closely with site management and project teams to promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance across all works.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing day-to-day Health & Safety support across multiple live sites
Conducting site inspections, audits, and safety tours
Advising site teams on safe systems of work, RAMS, and method statements
Supporting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
Delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings
Monitoring compliance with company procedures and HSE legislation
Producing reports and tracking Health & Safety performance
Building strong relationships with site managers and supervisors
About YouTo be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
Experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor within utilities, civil engineering, or construction environments
Strong site presence and confidence engaging with operational teams
A practical, solutions-focused approach to Health & Safety
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regionally
