Days of Working: This position will be based at York Hospital, working the following:
Days and Night
Shifts are 06:00 - 18:00 & 18:00 - 06:00
We cover 365 days a year
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising and supporting the security team to deliver a professional, customer-focused security service.
- Acting as the first point of contact for security-related matters, incidents and emergencies on site.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, site procedures, health and safety requirements, risk assessments and Security Industry Authority (SIA) regulations.
- Monitoring premises, CCTV systems, access control systems and security operations to ensure the safety and security of people, property and assets.
- Conducting regular patrols, inspections and security checks in line with site requirements.
- Managing and responding to incidents, ensuring accurate reporting, investigation and escalation where required.
- Supporting the recruitment, induction, training, development and ongoing performance management of team members.
- Preparing staff rotas and ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet operational requirements.
- Promoting a culture of professionalism, accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, emergency services and site users.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Must have the Right to Work in the UK and the ability to pass BS7858 security screening.
- A valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
- CCTV License.
- UK driving licence.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within the security industry.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of security operations, incident management and site procedures.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
- The ability to make informed decisions and remain calm under pressure.
- Competent IT skills, including experience using incident reporting and security management systems.
- Experience working within a public sector environment.
- Experience managing CCTV operations and access control systems.
- First Aid qualification.
- Knowledge of emergency response and business continuity procedures.
