About The Role:

Working within EMCOR UK who are now part of OCS UK & I group.

Job Purpose: Responsible for carrying out installation works on both new and existing fire detection and alarm systems. Experience of working with large commercial clients and different manufacturers and protocols would be an advantage.

What you'll do:

  • Carry out planned installation works to fire detection and alarm systems in line with contract requirements, current British Standards and good working practices.
  • Complete first and second fix installation works including the installation of cables, containment and all fire detection and alarm, and associated ancillary equipment.
  • Ensure all works and installation paperwork are completed in accordance with relevant company guidelines, British Standards and good working practices.
  • Carry out investigations into system faults and system repairs to fire alarm systems.
  • Maintain communication between the client, colleagues and helpdesk and maintain and develop good working relationships with each.
  • Ensure risk assessments are completed or reviewed for every task being carried out.
  • Comply with the mandatory requirement on wearing PPE.
  • Comply with policies relating to health, safety, security, environmental and technical compliance issues that affect customers and employees, ensuring that all rules are adhered to at all times to maintain a high standard of discipline.
  • Maintain the integrity of the contract portfolio.
  • Ensure that ongoing operational activities are implemented to provide high quality service to customers and external quality verification.
  • Ensure timely submission of documentation, as detailed in the engineer's policies or required by the company/client.

Who you'll be:

  • Proven experience installing and repairing fire alarm systems.
  • Working knowledge of the latest British Standards.
  • Diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to resolve by elimination and/or technical recommendations.
  • Knowledge and experience of permits to work systems, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Proven experience in cable and containment installations.
  • Awareness of good Health & Safety practices.
  • Valid full driving licence, preferably clean.
  • Ability to follow project design, deadlines and time scales.
  • Training will be provided to address any identified development gaps.
