Days of Working

This position is based in South Warwickshire Clinical Services, working across Warwickshire, Leamington and community Trusts.

Hours are part-time, Monday - Friday (20 hours per week).

We are recruiting for a Dietitian to support OCS Public Sector catering and facilities services across healthcare environments.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help shape nutritional care and food provision, ensuring safe, inclusive, and therapeutic dietary services for service users.

Working closely with catering teams, healthcare professionals, service stakeholders, and service users, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of nutritional care, food quality, compliance, and service delivery.

  • As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Food provision
  • Provide recipe analysis, nutritional assessment, and development using dietary analysis software and catering information systems.
  • Maintain and review a database of standard recipes for patient, resident, staff, and retail food provision where applicable.
  • Assign and/or verify dietary coding for meals, dishes, and food items offered through catering services, including retail and vending outlets where relevant.
  • Develop and review menus and recipes in partnership with catering management teams and relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure that all standard, modified, and therapeutic diets can be provided safely, accurately, and in a timely manner, meeting both dietary and personal requirements.
  • Support the development of food-related information and menu resources suitable for diverse service user needs, including accessible, pictorial, and multilingual materials where appropriate.
  • Professional Advice and Liaison
  • Act as a source of nutritional and catering-related dietetic expertise.
  • Build and maintain relationships with professional dietetic bodies, catering groups, and industry networks to ensure awareness of current legislation, guidance, and best practice.
  • Provide specialist dietetic advice and support to OCS Public Sector teams when required.
  • Work collaboratively with catering, clinical, operational, and quality teams to promote best practice in food provision and nutrition.
  • Monitoring and Compliance
  • Lead audits and monitoring activities relating to catering standards, nutritional compliance, food safety, and contractual requirements.
  • Support routine food service reviews, including assessment of portion control, food presentation, service standards, dining environments, and service user experience.
  • Monitor compliance against relevant legislation, guidance, quality standards, and client requirements.
  • Contribute to the achievement of quality inspection outcomes, including PLACE, CQC standards, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Produce recommendations and action plans to support continuous improvement.
  • Training and Development
  • Ensure staff involved in food provision receive appropriate training in nutrition, allergens, therapeutic diets, and feeding practices.
  • Work closely with chefs, catering managers, and operational teams to support the production of nutritionally appropriate meals.
  • Develop, source, and deliver nutrition-related training materials and sessions.
  • Promote awareness of nutritional care and dietary requirements across operational teams.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria

  • Must have Right to Work in the UK and willingness to go through DBS checks if successful in this role.
  • BSc Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent recognised degree, plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics (or recognised equivalent qualification).
  • Registered Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Strong understanding of nutritional standards, therapeutic diets, food service operations, and healthcare catering.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Effective communication, training, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable

  • Full membership of the British Dietetic Association (BDA).
  • Previous experience supporting catering services within healthcare, public sector, or regulated environments.
  • Experience of conducting audits and supporting compliance against quality standards and regulatory requirements.
