To provide practical support to mechanical and electrical maintenance teams delivering planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, inspections, installations and minor works across the contract. The role assists skilled tradespersons in maintaining safe, reliable and compliant building services and infrastructure while promoting high standards of safety, housekeeping and operational excellence.
- Assist Mechanical Fitters, Electricians, Technicians and Supervisors with planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
- Support maintenance activities on mechanical and electrical systems including pumps, motors, valves, pipework, HVAC equipment, lighting systems, power distribution equipment and associated building services.
- Assist with minor maintenance activities, equipment installations and maintenance projects under appropriate supervision and within authorised competence.
- Support cable installation works, containment preparation, equipment positioning and mechanical assembly activities.
- Prepare work areas, including barriers, tools, materials, lifting equipment, access equipment and site safety arrangements.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in plant rooms, workshops, substations, external compounds, service areas and maintenance locations.
- Support inspections and surveys by identifying and reporting defects, damage, deterioration, corrosion, leaks and unsafe conditions.
- Assist with Permit to Work requirements, lock-off procedures and isolation activities under the direction of authorised personnel.
- Complete allocated tasks in accordance with work instructions, risk assessments, permits, security requirements and site procedures.
- Support planned shutdowns, maintenance campaigns and contractor activities whilst maintaining professional standards, safe working practices and positive customer engagement.
