About the role: This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our team at OCS as a Cleaning Operative, where in the performance of your duties you will travel the rail network keeping trains clean for our client (one of the UK’s largest rail providers). You will inevitably come in to contact with members of the public throughout the performance of your duties, so being a good communicator and having a happy to help attitude is a must. You will be at the front line of the operation and play a key role in the delivery of service to our client by ensuring that rail users have a clean and pleasant journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tidying up work areas, cleaning floors and communal areas.
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, emptying bins.
  • Litter Picking & Collection.
  • Sanitisation of Touch Points.
  • Reporting of any equipment faults and health and safety concerns.
  • Adhering to all Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Attend relevant Health & Safety Training.
  • You may come into regular contact with customers so you must be able to assist them if needed.
  • You must complete all relevant Health & Safety records and attend training courses when needed.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Must have Right to Work in the UK.
  • Previous experience in cleaning would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and helpful attitude.
  • Willingness to work night and weekend shifts.
  • Ability to lone work.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workloads.
  • English and Maths at Grade 4 or above would be advantageous.

Additional information:

You may be required to undergo a medical and drug and alcohol test prior to starting in this role.
