Days of Working: This role is based at Lymington New Forest Hospital, working Monday - Friday. Will be some weekend on call. Every 3 weeks. Escalation to help on site supervisors via phone calls.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contract Manager to lead the delivery of a high-profile Healthcare PFI contract in Lymington. With annual contract revenue of approximately Β£2 million, this role is responsible for the effective management of integrated Soft FM services, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, contractual compliance, and exceptional client relationships.
The successful candidate will oversee a broad range of Soft FM services including Cleaning, Patient Feeding, Retail Catering, Portering, Pest Control, Window Cleaning and Waste Management, driving service innovation whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and customer satisfaction.
Operational Leadership
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of all Soft FM services across the contract.
- Ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget and in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Act as the primary operational contact for the client, subcontractors and on-site teams.
- Manage resources effectively to optimise service delivery and maximise contract profitability.
- Monitor contract performance against KPIs, SLAs and quality standards.
- Oversee contract reporting, record keeping and performance management processes.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation across service delivery.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with NHS stakeholders, the SPV, Hard FM providers and subcontractors.
- Represent the business professionally through meetings, reporting and correspondence.
- Act as the key liaison for all service-related matters and contractual performance discussions.
- Identify risks and opportunities, implementing appropriate mitigation and improvement plans.
Financial Management
- Deliver the contract within agreed budgets and achieve P&L targets.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost control measures.
- Manage the contract payment mechanism and minimise deductions.
- Support subcontract management to ensure value for money and contractual compliance.
People Management
- Lead, motivate and develop a diverse operational workforce.
- Manage recruitment, performance management, disciplinary, grievance and capability processes.
- Conduct annual appraisals and create individual development plans.
- Implement succession planning and support employee development initiatives.
- Foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Champion a positive safety culture and lead by example.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company standards.
- Manage risk assessments, COSHH, PPE requirements and accident reporting processes.
- Complete required audits, inspections and safety reporting activities.
- Ensure all services meet quality, environmental and regulatory requirements, including HACCP compliance where applicable.

- Proven experience managing complex Facilities Management contracts.
- Strong P&L and budget management experience.
- Experience leading large and diverse operational teams.
- Demonstrable success in stakeholder and client relationship management.
- Strong understanding of contractual compliance, KPIs and SLAs.
- Experience delivering operational excellence within a healthcare or similarly regulated environment.
- Excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills.
Desirable:
- Previous Healthcare PFI Facilities Management experience.
- Knowledge of both Hard and Soft FM services.
- Understanding of M&E engineering, asset management and building maintenance.
- Degree-level education.
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
- ILM Level 5 or above.
- Membership of IWFM, IET, CIBSE or another relevant professional body.
