About The Role:

Days of Working: The contract is a 24/7 contract, there may be the occasional need for a later shift or weekend shift (NHS contract). This role sits within the central HR team and is assigned to support a specific OCS operational business unit – reporting to the relevant Head of HR. A HR Operations Partner is responsible for providing in person HR support to operational managers of their specific business unit; and will support the relevant Head of HR with wider HR projects, workstreams and initiatives. An HR Operations Partner will need to build and maintain trusted working relationships with operational managers to ensure that HR needs are not just met, but that they are delivered with excellent levels of service, at optimal cost and through working in partnership with operational management colleagues at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support operational managers with in-person HR advice and guidance on high-risk or complex HR cases.
  • Design and deliver training on HR topics to improve management capability and awareness.
  • Coach and support operational managers to deliver effective people management.
  • Act as a point of escalation on complex cases which are being managed by HR advisory colleagues aligned to the business unit.
  • Provide guidance and support on restructuring/change activity.
  • Support TUPE mobilisations and demobilisations from an HR perspective – engaging with other internal stakeholders where necessary to ensure successful processes.
  • Support the IR and Engagement Strategy including identifying and implementing colleague engagement initiatives and lead employee engagement forums.
  • Support the relevant Head of HR with wider HR projects, workstreams and initiatives; and the implementation of their HR strategy.
  • Be a champion of change – support new initiatives and change management activity positively, always demonstrating behaviours in line with OCS TRUE Values.
  • Where capacity permits, support Heads of HR for other OCS business units should the need arise.

Qualifications & Skills:

Necessary

  • Experience advising on complex HR matters in a fast paced, low margin business.
  • Experience of designing and delivering HR training.
  • Experience creating a skills gap analysis and designing/delivering training initiatives to close that skills gap.
  • Stakeholder management experience - working with managers at all levels to deliver HR processes.
  • L5 CIPD or working towards/prepared to work towards.

Desirable

  • Experience of managing HR related aspects of M&A activity.
  • Experience negotiating exits and settlement agreements.
  • Experience with Employment Tribunal litigation; and an understanding of the process.
  • Associate CIPD (L5 L7); MCIPD.
