This role sits within our Security business division which provides physical security guarding, access control, alarm systems and perimeter property protection, CCTV, mobile surveillance, and ANPR Technology services to a wide range of prestigious clients.
About The Role:
Main Purpose/Objectives:
As the Facilities Manager at Nicholson's Shopping Centre, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, tenants, and the public. You will guard against loss or damage to property, act as the first line of reaction in the event of an emergency, and assist the Nicholson's Shopping Centre Management team in providing a quality service to tenants, staff, contractors, and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Management: Oversee the standards of work carried out by security staff, ensuring alignment with client expectations. Act as deputy in the absence of the Savills Centre Management team and assist in managing the shopping centre within agreed limitations.
- Business Continuity: Ensure Business Continuity Plans are up to date, including tenant head office and area manager emergency contact information.
- Contractor Management: Manage security and safety-related contractors, such as fire and sprinkler systems, intruder alarm systems, and CCTV systems, ensuring service visits take place as per contractual expectations. Conduct weekly testing of the Centre Sprinkler system and record results.
- Event Management: Assist with event management planning and delivery, and produce condition reports for new tenants upon entering and departing from a Centre unit.
- Health & Safety: Attend Centre Management and OCS/Client meetings, record minutes, and contribute to the Site Health & Safety committee. Facilitate the inspection regime required to complete the Savills daily site safety check sheet. Ensure service deck parking rules and guidance are up to date and adhered to.
- Training and Development: Manage the development of the service, including the training and development of staff. Provide ongoing mentoring and performance coaching to the site security team. Ensure staff have the appropriate level of fire and law training.
- Compliance: Manage the CCTV and Data library in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Ensure assignment instructions are kept up to date and relevant. Assist in managing all contractors by monitoring their compliance with client requirements. Utilize online reporting and recording systems, including bespoke software such as Partner Patrol Management System, Timegate, MyView, and Data Station.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records, including assignment logs, incident reports, accident reports, lost property, faults and damages, key controls, out-of-hours tenant trading, Savills daily site safety checklists, fire alarm testing logs, weekly sprinkler testing logs, tenant contact lists, training records, and sickness and holiday records.
- Annual Tasks: Ensure business continuity, update SOPs and Assignment Instructions, conduct Health & Safety Risk Assessments, and perform staff appraisals.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using security and facilities management technology.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and compliance.
- Relevant qualifications, such as SIA licence.
Successful candidates will also be required to undergo screening and vetting (BS7858).
