About The Role:

Days of Working: Contracted working hours 8am until 5pm (1 hour unpaid lunch). Although this role is Monday to Friday there is also a requirement to cover on call out of hours and carry out overtime to ensure PPM compliance.

This is a fantastic opportunity to further your facilities management career. OCS require an experienced PFI Lead Engineer to oversee the delivery and implementation of Electrical/Mechanical Safe Systems at Work and manage Sub-contractors. You will have a sound knowledge of HTMs, and SFG20 guidelines.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Advise on and implement all OCS policies, processes and procedures.
  • Ensure that all legislative and policy changes are effectively communicated and trained to all direct reports.
  • Liaise with the OCS contract manager and Trust representatives regarding PPM’s, project works and contract safety groups.
  • Maintain all office environment in an orderly fashion.
  • Organise and maintain filing systems and records in line with contractual obligations.
  • To ensure all data is recorded onto OCS systems and is always kept up to date.
  • To control, co-ordinate and oversee the CAFM system to ensure that all reactive and PPM works are completed within KPI parameters and details of all assets under contractual control are up to date.
  • To ensure that works are carried out inline with HTM’s and legislation.
  • Liaise with the OCS contract manager to ensure that all statutory compliance documents and requirements are always in place for regular inspection.
  • To take an active role in contractual audits, inspections and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure all monthly reporting requirements are accurately submitted within contractual timescales.
  • To oversee and guide the Engineering Admin and direct reports to ensure that all remedials and programmed works are contractually programmed and so that clear instructions regarding remedial works are brought to the attention of the OCS contract Manager.
  • To ensure that all direct reports are up to date with the required training and role requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with the team through formal meetings and informal channels on safety matters, status of current works and up and coming works.
  • Ensure that the OCS safety image is reflected positively through your actions and those of your colleagues and subcontractors.
  • Carry out Health and Safety audits as required by OCS including safe site inspections and contractor inspections.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that Risk Assessments and Method Statements are communicated to employees and contractors prior to the commencement of any work activity.
  • Take responsibility and ensure that plant and equipment is maintained, fit for purpose and in good working order.
  • Ensure that work activities are properly managed and supervised and that a suitable qualified member of the team takes the role of the Responsible Person.
  • To attend and take a prominent role within the contractual Health & Safety Groups for Water, Electrical and Fire.
  • To manage an on-call rota to ensure that out of hours calls are responded to within the contractual obligations.
  • To have an active role in the costings of Lifecycle, small works and contractual variation.
  • To review any remedial actions from Service visits and ensure that these are dealt with in line with the contractual obligation.

Professional qualifications required:

  • Electrical qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2350 NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation Engineering + AM2 Inspection & testing qualification such as or equivalent to City & Guilds 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH.
  • Excellent IT qualifications – including Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, CAFM management system or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable experience of training across multiple trades including mechanical.
  • Fully conversant with management systems and auditable data, preferably in a Healthcare environment.
  • Proven experience of guiding engineering teams, making technical decisions, managing projects, overseeing subcontractors of multiple trades and ensuring alignment with contractual compliance.
