About The Role:
The Regional Operations Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating security operations across multiple sites within an assigned region. The role ensures consistent application of security standards, effective supervision of site security teams, and proactive risk management to protect people, property, and assets while supporting operational objectives. The postholder will ensure that all security operations are delivered in line with SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) standards and BS 7499 β Static Site Guarding and Mobile Patrol Services requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Supervise day-to-day security operations across multiple locations within the region
- Ensure all sites operate in full compliance with company policies, client requirements, ACS standards, and BS 7499
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and quality assurance checks in line with ACS and BS 7499 requirements
- Ensure Assignment Instructions (AIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are current, compliant, and consistently applied
- Coordinate incident response, investigations, and reporting across sites
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and support site-based security supervisors and officers
- Ensure all security personnel are suitably licensed, vetted, trained, and deployed in line with ACS and BS 7499 requirements
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes
- Identify training needs and support ongoing professional development
- Monitor performance, conduct reviews, and address disciplinary issues as required
Risk & Incident Management
- Identify security risks, vulnerabilities, and emerging threats
- Ensure risk assessments and site-specific procedures remain current and compliant with BS 7499
- Lead regional response to critical incidents and emergencies
- Ensure accurate incident reporting, escalation, and trend analysis
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a key point of contact for regional and client stakeholders on security matters
- Support client audits, inspections, and ACS assessments
- Liaise with local authorities, emergency services, and external partners as required
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Support and contribute to ACS audits, self-assessments, and continual improvement activities
- Ensure accurate maintenance of records including licences, training, vetting, patrol logs, and incident reports
- Promote best practice, professionalism, and ethical conduct across all security operations
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to manage multiple sites and competing priorities
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of ACS standards and BS 7499 requirements
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Proven experience in operational security or protective services
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Knowledge of security risk assessment, incident management, and compliance frameworks
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence
- Must hold a current SIA Guarding or Door Supervisor licence
- Must hold a current SIA CCTV licence or be willing to obtain one within six months of appointment
Desirable
- Recognised security or management qualification (e.g. Level 3β5 Security Management or equivalent)
- Experience working within an SIA Approved Contractor (ACS) environment
- Experience preparing sites for audits or inspections
- Knowledge of CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
Working Conditions
- Regional travel required
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours in response to incidents, audits, or operational needs
