Experteer Overview In this role you ensure water systems meet safety and hygiene standards across client sites.

You work within a safety-minded, service-driven team to inspect, test, and remediate hot and cold-water systems, focusing on Legionella control and regulatory compliance.

You collaborate with clients and internal teams to communicate findings and implement improvements.

You will contribute to ongoing safety, quality, and customer-facing service excellence, with opportunities to grow through professional development.

  • Water system maintenance and monitoring: inspect, clean, disinfect hot and cold-water systems, tanks, and pipework according to HSG274 Part 2 and L8 ACOP; perform temperature checks to control Legionella risk; sample, test, and interpret water quality results.

Risk assessments and compliance: support Legionella risk assessments, identify hazards, implement control measures per HSG274 Part 2; ensure adherence to UK regulations (Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH, L8 ACOP); maintain inspection and test records.

Remedial and installation work: perform descaling, flushing, and chlorination; install, repair, and maintain TMVs, pumps, and piping; respond to emergency water hygiene issues.

Client interaction and communication: explain findings, provide recommendations, and ensure understanding of water hygiene obligations; deliver professional customer service.

Health & Safety responsibilities: promote safety, ensure compliance with legislation and RAMS/CPP; oversee risk assessments, method statements, toolbox talks; ensure safety protocols are followed.

Tasks Proven experience as a Water Hygiene Engineer or similar with knowledge of hot and cold-water systems and Legionella control.

Strong understanding of HSG274 Part 2, L8 ACOP, and relevant UK water hygiene regulations.

Ability to conduct water sampling, temperature monitoring, and basic water quality testing.

Practical skills in cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of water systems.

Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.

Strong verbal and written communication for client interaction and reporting.

Full UK driving licence (travel to client sites).

Willingness to work flexible hours including occasional weekends and out-of-hours callouts.
