In this role you will support the delivery of small minor works programmes (30-250k) by coordinating contractors, planning works, and ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery. You will mentor the delivery team and collaborate with client representatives to deliver value and maintain high standards. You'll work with in-house engineers and fabric teams to optimise labour, manage pre-starts and CDM documentation, and report on progress and risks. This is a hands-on position with a clear impact on project performance and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review programmes of works and identify barriers to delivery; present current position to internal and client meetings.
- Assess contractor performance (quality, delivery, RAMS) and escape where needed with Project Buyer and contractor reps.
- Provide technical, contractor or programming support to the wider team.
- Occasionally deputise for the Project Delivery Manager or Site Lead at senior meetings.
- Supervise contractors on larger/complex projects and coordinate with in-house teams to maximise labour use.
- Lead pre-start meetings and produce CDM plans and documentation.
- Organise and review contractor quotations with stakeholders to ensure value for money.
- Ensure health and safety compliance across projects and report opportunities for improvement.
- Undertake contractor inductions and maintain strong client stakeholder relationships.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure contract requirements, SLAs/KPIs are met.
- Provide technical support for site and account when required.
- Own works standards and ensure timely rectification of issues.
- Manage subcontractor visit controls, audits and performance reporting.
- Contribute to the operational team's delivery and risk management.
- Maintain relationships with client surveyors and ensure alignment with project delivery.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Project Management/Engineer role (e.g., Qualifying Supervisor NECIEC).
- Experience developing and updating programmes of works.
- Ability to communicate project delivery details to stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
- Ability to use initiative to resolve delivery barriers.
- NEBOSH/IOSH Managing Safely would be desirable.
- Good knowledge of CDM requirements and reporting.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills; experience managing subcontractors from quotation to delivery.
- Experience with KPIs; auditing and analysis experience is an advantage.
- Facilities management experience would be advantageous.
