OCR Alpha have partnered with an established, multi-billion-dollar alternative investment manager looking to hire a junior investment professional to join its London team, focusing on Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS).
This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist investment team, working directly alongside an experienced Portfolio Manager with exposure to trading, portfolio analysis and risk management. The successful candidate will take on increasing responsibility over time, with a clear opportunity to develop into a Portfolio Manager.
The Role:
- Support the Portfolio Manager in the analysis, trading and management of an ILS portfolio.
- Analyse investment opportunities, assessing risk, pricing and potential returns.
- Develop and maintain quantitative models and analytical tools to support investment decisions.
- Monitor portfolio exposures, performance and risk.
- Work closely with senior investment professionals on portfolio construction and ongoing investment strategy.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years' experience in investment analysis, trading, quantitative research or a related analytical role.
- Strong academic background, with a STEM degree essential.
- Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel skills; programming experience would be advantageous.
- Genuine interest in financial markets, trading and developing a long-term investment career.
Prior ILS experience is advantageous but not essential.
