Purpose of the Job
To work with our Capital Markets and Technology teams to deliver a modern, scalable solution to support our Philadelphia based team providing bond waterfall calculations and tax reporting for mortgage and asset backed securities (MBS and ABS). You will oversee the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, from scoping and planning to testing and deployment, ensuring that the solutions meet the business objectives. You will also ensure the delivery team follows the best practices and standards for quality and performance. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as project managers, business analysts and vendors, to ensure smooth and timely delivery of the solutions. You will also identify and mitigate any risks or issues that may arise during the delivery process. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the delivery methodology, processes, tools, and frameworks for our capital markets services.
Main Responsibilities
- As a solution architect, you will be responsible for codifying existing practices and processes and designing, developing, and implementing software solutions for securitisation projects involving mortgage and asset backed securities (MBS and ABS).
- You will work with users and leadership to provide guidance on best practice and manage the development team.
- You will work closely with the business stakeholders, product owners, and external vendors to understand the business requirements, assess the feasibility and suitability of third party products and internal development, and propose the best solution architecture.
- You will also contribute to the business process engineering and business transformation initiatives and ensure alignment with the enterprise architecture and security standards.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level with relevant industry qualifications or demonstrable experience.
- Experience in developing holistic solutions that consider organisation, process and technology.
- More than 10 years of experience in software development in the financial services industry.
- More than 5 years of experience in solution architecture in the securitisation domain.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of securitisation concepts, products, and processes, especially MBS, ABS, CDOs.
- Working knowledge of accounting and taxable income calculations for US Real Estate Mortgage Investment Conduits (REMICs).
- Understanding of design and build of calculation and modelling solutions.
- Proficient in various programming languages, frameworks, and tools, such as C/C++, Java, Python, .NET, SQL, AWS, Azure, etc.
- Experience in business process engineering and business transformation, and ability to apply agile and lean methodologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
