Team: Our Belfast office is home to around 120 colleagues, with 70+ professionals across Fund Services including Accounting, Administration, Investor Services, Company Secretarial and Depositary.
Since opening in the Titanic Quarter in 2011, Belfast has become a key strategic hub for Ocorian, also supporting global functions such as IT, Finance, Compliance, HR and Marketing.
The Corporate Accounting team works as an extension of our clients’ finance functions, delivering bookkeeping, management accounts, statutory financial statements and audit coordination for a diverse portfolio of entities.
The team offers excellent career progression opportunities, from apprentices and graduates through to senior leadership roles, supported by a flexible hybrid working model (typically two days in the office and three from home).
Purpose of Role
As a key member of the Corporate Accounting leadership team, the Senior Corporate Accounting Manager will oversee the delivery of accounting and financial reporting services for a portfolio of renewable energy clients.
This role combines technical accounting expertise, client relationship management and team leadership, ensuring high-quality service delivery, operational excellence and compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP.
Key Responsibilities
- Review bookkeeping, reconciliations, VAT returns, accruals, prepayments, loan interest calculations and investment transactions.
- Oversee the preparation and review of management accounts, statutory financial statements and regulatory reporting.
- Manage audit processes and maintain relationships with auditors and professional advisers.
- Ensure client reporting deadlines are met and accounting standards are consistently applied.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the senior escalation point for complex accounting matters.
- Lead client and team meetings, coordinating the timely delivery of accounting services.
- Manage, mentor and develop team members, driving performance, quality and continuous improvement.
- Support business development activities, including fee proposals and meetings with prospective clients.
- Review and approve client payments and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications Required
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Significant experience in financial reporting, statutory accounts preparation and audit management.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to develop and motivate high‑performing teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
