OCM Consulting is expanding, and we are seeking talented Quantity Surveyors at Assistant, Intermediate, and Senior level to join our dynamic team. This is a rare opportunity to gain exposure working with a diverse range of Civil Engineering Contractors and contribute to a variety of projects. Tired of the rigid corporate environment? At OCM Consulting, we provide a range of Quantity Surveying services to a growing portfolio of Civil Engineering Contractors. You’ll collaborate on projects of varying scale and complexity, contributing to a team and managing the commercial aspects throughout. The Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in overseeing the commercial function of projects and will report directly to the Lead Quantity Surveyor.
Responsibilities (role-dependent):
- Site measurement, including take-off, valuations, and cost analysis.
- Change management and programme adjustments.
- Applications for payment and final account settlements.
- Dispute resolution.
- Material quantifying and scheduling.
- Attending progress and account meetings.
- Managing contractor supply chain documentation requirements.
Requirements:
- Assistant / Intermediate / Senior Quantity Surveyors considered.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within Civil Engineering in the UK.
- Working knowledge of contract forms, including NEC3/4.
- Qualified to at least HNC standard and CSCS Card required.
- Ability to take initiative and adapt to challenges.
- Available to work from site 2–3 days a week; driver’s license required.
- Self-motivated with strong teamwork skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
