OCM Consulting is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor (Civil Engineering) with 2–5+ years’ UK experience to join our growing commercial team.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative and expanding consultancy, working across a diverse portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects throughout the UK. You will be involved in Quantity Surveying, commercial management, NEC contract administration, cost control, and project delivery, supporting contractors and working alongside experienced commercial professionals.
The role is open to candidates at Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor level, offering clear progression and exposure to a wide range of projects. Our office is based in Wincanton, Somerset, however the role is primarily site-based, with hybrid and flexible working available. Regular office attendance is not required.
- Site measurement, including take-off, valuations, and cost analysis
- Applications for payment and final account preparation
- Commercial management and cost reporting across multiple projects
- Subcontractor procurement and supply chain management
- Attending progress and commercial meetings with project teams
- Supporting or managing contractor commercial processes depending on experience
Minimum 2+ years’ experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor within UK civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
Working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts and commercial management processes.
Experience in quantity surveying, cost management, and commercial reporting.
HNC / HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
CSCS card required.
Ability to travel to project sites (typically 2–3 days per week). UK driving licence required.
