We are looking to recruit new Apprentices, who will start in November 2026.

The role of the Apprentice is to support the everyday running of the facility, ensuring that the best possible service is provided to each and every one of our customers.

You will be assigned a dedicated mentor to help you to complete the apprenticeship successfully.

The training provided will include First Aid at Work, Gym Instruction, Pool Lifeguard and Swim Teaching as well as any other leisure related qualifications and training which can be offered during the period.

Individuals will be supported to achieve a Level 2 Leisure Team Member Apprenticeship, relevant key skills and undergo in-house training.

There are currently various hours available and where possible there is flexibility to work around individual’s commitments and hours which will be discussed at interview.

Hours of work include evening and weekend work.

The role of Apprentice will occasionally require flexibility to work across various departments, and the place of work may be varied from time to time.

The Pool Lifeguard qualification is a requirement of the role and therefore will require candidates to have a good level of swimming ability.

A DBS check is a requirement of the role.

The rate of pay for the role is the Apprentice Minimum Wage (£8), this rate applies to apprentices who are under 19 or aged 19 or over but in their first year of the apprenticeship.

Once an apprentice completes their first year, they are entitled to the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage rate for their age group.

However, there is the opportunity to pick up additional hours on a casual basis which may be paid at higher rates.

The closing date for receipt of applications is Sunday 27 th September 2026 with water tests taking place W/C 28 th September 2026 (exact dates to be confirmed).

Regarding the Water Test please see below.

  • Candidates must be at least 16 years old at the time of the examination
  • Be able to swim 100 metres on their front
  • Be able to swim 100 metres on their back
  • Be able to swim 50 metres in 1 minute
  • Be able to surface dive and recover an object from the deepest part of the pool

Please note, once water tests have taken place, interviews will then be arranged.
