An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a specialist legal firm in the Fast Track Personal Injury team (Part 7 up to £15,000) dealing with predominantly Claimant Fast Track RTA cases; however, experience in EL/PL and OL claims would be welcome. We are looking for an experienced file handler who is familiar with dealing with personal injury cases and litigation and running a full caseload. Being qualified as Solicitor/CFILEX is preferable but not essential.

OCL Solicitors is a rapidly expanding law firm dealing largely in Road Traffic Accident Litigation and has excellent career progression.

As a Fee Earner you will run your own caseload of personal injury cases, under supervision from management, to an effective and satisfactory conclusion for clients. The main duties will include:

  • Being able to take instruction on a case and be able to proceed with the job in hand
  • Running your own caseload
  • Assist in running a case from inception, right through to settlement or Trial
  • Dealing with new claims or claims that have started life in the OIC or MOJ Portal which turn into Fast Track cases
  • Ability to manage a Client well, keep them updated and informed when needed
  • Taking and drafting Statements and obtaining all early evidence in support of liability and causation if required
  • Obtain medical records, reviewing the same and assessing what medical evidence is required
  • Instructing medical experts and reviewing, and obtaining, any further medical evidence
  • Drafting Schedules of Losses
  • Preparing and Drafting Court Proceedings and other Court documents
  • Ability to work well within a team

The team works on a hybrid rota whereby we are in the office in Doncaster on a set rota of 3 days every other week and then the occasional Friday, usually one a month. The rest of the time is working from home with full equipment provided. Full time hours are 37.5 hours per week. There is some flexibility to this, but it needs to suit business needs.
