We are a small, collaborative organisation based in London, seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team of four. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a key role in delivering accurate and efficient financial operations across the organisation.

This is a varied role combining a range of accounts administration responsibilities. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with organisational policies and regulatory requirements, while managing your workload independently across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles. You will play an important part in ensuring financial processes run smoothly and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

In the accounts function, you will manage both the sales and purchase ledgers, including raising invoices, processing credit notes, and reconciling transactions. You will maintain accurate records of payments and receipts, carry out credit control activities, and resolve customer and supplier queries. The role also involves processing supplier payments, administering the purchase order system, completing monthly bank reconciliations, and supporting VAT reporting.

You will oversee company expenses, including credit cards and claims, ensuring appropriate documentation and approvals are in place, and will contribute to financial monitoring, reporting, and audit preparation. There may also be an occasional need to get involved with payroll activities (following training). The role also includes supporting programme income reconciliation, maintaining accurate customer account records, and assisting with petty cash and foreign currency when needed.

You will liaise regularly with both internal colleagues and external stakeholders such as members and auditors, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with data protection requirements at all times.

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of accounting processes and financial controls, who is confident using SAGE 50 Accounts and Excel. Knowledge of SAGE Payroll, VAT, PAYE, and wider compliance requirements would be advantageous. You will have at least five years’ experience in a finance role, with proven experience of managing ledgers, reconciliations, and financial records, and ideally some exposure to payroll administration.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-focused, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be professional, reliable, and discreet, with effective communication skills and a proactive, solution-focused approach. A positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues in a small team environment are essential.

We offer a supportive and collaborative working environment, with hybrid working available after successful completion of probation. This role provides the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and gain exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities within a small organisation.

If you are an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for a varied and rewarding role, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Closing date for applications will be Wednesday 3 June 2026 at 5pm. Any applications received after this date will not be considered. Applications without both documents will not be considered. OCIMF does not hold a sponsorship licence so is unable to accept applications from anyone who does not have the right to work in the UK.

If you would like to discuss the role in more detail, please email. Thank you for your interest in OCIMF.
