My client is seeking a Staff Front-End Engineer to join their growing product engineering team. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on development while also shaping front-end strategy and mentoring engineers across teams.

Location: Remote (Candidates must be based in Northern Ireland)

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading the design and implementation of scalable, accessible, and performant front-end applications
  • Collaborating closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering Leads to define the technical direction of key projects
  • Driving best practices in front-end architecture, testing, and deployment pipelines
  • Acting as a mentor and technical resource for other front-end engineers across the company
  • Championing performance, maintainability, and design excellence in the codebase
  • Contributing to cross-functional initiatives, architecture decisions, and design system evolution

What We’re Looking For:

  • 8+ years of front-end development experience, with deep knowledge of React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Proven experience leading front-end projects or platforms in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of component architecture, state management, and testing strategies
  • Familiarity with accessibility (a11y) standards and performance optimisation
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and cloud environments (e.g., AWS)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills — able to influence without authority
  • A pragmatic problem-solver who values collaboration, quality, and simplicity

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with design systems (Storybook, Figma tokens, etc.)
  • Familiarity with back-end integration (REST/GraphQL APIs)
  • Prior experience in mentoring, coaching, or managing other engineers
  • Exposure to server-side rendering or edge rendering techniques
