The Role
This is a dual-focus Account Director role β combining the stewardship of a portfolio of strategic public sector accounts with a clear expectation to win net-new business within defined target accounts. You'll own senior customer relationships, expand share of wallet across existing accounts, and proactively pursue new logo opportunities aligned to the company's cyber security proposition. Acting as the primary commercial lead, you'll work closely with pre-sales, delivery, and vendor partners to drive sustainable revenue growth. The right person will be equally comfortable building long-term strategic relationships and hunting new opportunities β credible at exec level and disciplined in pipeline management.
Key Responsibilities
- Own full commercial responsibility for an allocated public sector account portfolio, acting as the primary point of contact
- Develop and execute account plans to drive growth, retention, and cross-sell across existing customers
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new logo opportunities within agreed target accounts
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders β technical, operational, and executive decision-makers
- Lead discovery conversations to understand customer cyber risk, compliance obligations, and strategic priorities
- Position appropriate cyber security solutions, services, and consultancy to meet customer needs
- Own the full sales cycle from opportunity qualification through to close and ongoing account development
- Collaborate with vendor partners on joint account planning, pipeline creation, and co-selling opportunities
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasting, and opportunity hygiene in line with sales governance
- Achieve agreed revenue, pipeline, retention, and new business targets
What You'll Need
Essential
- Proven experience in an Account Director or senior Account Manager role within technology or cyber security
- Demonstrable track record of growing existing accounts alongside winning new logo business
- Experience selling complex, consultative solutions into public sector or regulated environments
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging at senior and executive level
- Disciplined approach to opportunity qualification, forecasting, and pipeline management
- Strong communication, commercial negotiation, and presentation skills
Nice to Have
- Strong understanding of public sector procurement frameworks and buying cycles
- Experience selling cyber security technologies such as firewalls, XDR, SIEM/SOC, or SASE
