Our client is building the next generation of payments infrastructure and looking for a hands-on Network Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for designing, delivering, and maintaining our global network estate. You will operate as a player-coach: developing talent while staying technically engaged across the full network function.

The Role

You will own network architecture, design, administration, and optimisation across the enterprise, maintaining 5 9's availability in a 24/7 environment. You will act as the senior technical lead across network initiatives, liaising with Engineering, Security, and Architecture, and provide regular reporting to the CTO office on performance, security, and service levels.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Infrastructure lifecycle management (switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, compute, and storage)
  • Capacity planning
  • Disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Change and incident management
  • Maintaining technical documentation and standards

Required Experience and Skills

  • 11+ years of enterprise network design and support
  • 6+ years as a technical lead or architect
  • Hands-on expertise with Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto technologies (WAN/LAN)
  • Strong knowledge of BGP, VXLAN, L4-L7 load balancing, VPN, DNS, and Layer 2/3 protocols
  • Scripting ability in Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar
  • Experience with network security (NAC, packet decryption/re-encryption, certificate management)
  • Disaster recovery planning and implementation
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • AWS or Azure experience
  • VoIP implementation and support
  • Certifications: JNCIP, JNCIE, PCNSA, PCNSE, or ITIL
