About the Company
Our client is an established technology organisation delivering complex software products at scale. They operate across multiple teams and workstreams, with a mature delivery function and a strong emphasis on quality analysis, stakeholder alignment and well-documented requirements. This is a business that values analytical rigour, collaborative working and the kind of senior BA who can lead from the front - shaping scope, coaching others and bringing real structure to complex problems.
The Role
This is a Senior Business Analyst position with broad ownership across the full requirements lifecycle, from stakeholder engagement and elicitation through to documentation, validation and delivery support. You will work across projects of varying size and complexity, contributing to scope definition, backlog refinement, impact analysis and solution assessment. As a senior practitioner you will coach less experienced Business Analysts, lead kickoffs, drive risk identification from the earliest stages of a project and act as a trusted bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams. You will be comfortable operating in both Agile and Waterfall environments and will bring a structured, thoughtful approach to every engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full requirements lifecycle - identify stakeholders, elicit, analyse, document, baseline, communicate and track requirements.
- Apply a broad range of elicitation techniques including interviews, workshops, document analysis, prototyping and focus groups.
- Break down epics into features and maintain well-structured backlogs.
- Produce complex diagrams illustrating interactions, workflows and system architecture at business level.
- Identify and articulate functional and non-functional requirements.
- Lead project kickoffs and clearly communicate scope, goals and constraints to the wider team.
- Perform impact analyses on change requests and propose short term solutions when course corrections are needed.
- Identify risks early and proactively suggest descoping where requirements are identified as not feasible.
- Assess proposed solutions against business goals and expectations.
- Apply the INVEST model for user stories and use cases, knowing when pragmatic adjustments are appropriate.
- Identify team interdependencies and support planning to reduce uncertainty across delivery.
- Coach and mentor Business Analysts with less experience.
- Step into a Scrum Master capacity when the team requires it.
What You'll Need
Essential:
- 5 or more years of experience in a Business Analyst, Product Coordinator or Product Manager role.
- Proficiency in 5 or more elicitation techniques across interview, workshop, shadowing, prototyping and related approaches.
- Strong experience producing business requirement documents, user stories and use cases.
- Expertise in at least 2 tools for requirements management and at least 2 tools for diagram creation.
- Solid understanding of both Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
- Deep knowledge of incremental and iterative development concepts.
- Experience identifying risks, conducting impact analyses and managing scope changes.
- Proven ability to create business level architecture and process diagrams.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have:
- Experience acting as Scrum Master within a delivery team.
- Background working across multiple teams on differently sized projects simultaneously.
- Exposure to complex or regulated product environments.
Why Apply?
- Salary up to £50,000.
- Fully remote working.
- Senior scope with genuine ownership across requirements, analysis and stakeholder engagement.
