This is a well-established, PE-backed Fintech business operating in the financial services sector. The organisation works with a range of UK and international clients, providing specialist outsourcing solutions that require rigorous financial management, regulatory compliance, and client-focused reporting. The finance team plays a central role in the business and this is a visible position with direct exposure to senior stakeholders.
We are looking for a driven, detail-oriented part-qualified accountant to join the finance function. This is a hands-on role covering day-to-day financial operations, management reporting, and compliance activity. It suits someone who is progressing through their professional qualification and is looking for a role that will accelerate their development with real variety and ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and process daily transactions including expenses, revenue, and bank activity.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activity.
- Assist with VAT returns, payroll processing, and compliance with HMRC obligations.
- Liaise with external auditors and provide supporting documentation during audit periods.
- Monitor expenditure against budget and highlight variances to management.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of financial systems, processes, and controls.
- Use accounting software and Excel to maintain data accuracy and streamline reporting.
What You Will Need
Essential
- Part-qualified or actively studying towards ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Solid grounding in core accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (Sage, SAP, Oracle or similar).
- Strong attention to detail with good organisational and time management skills.
- Able to work independently and manage own workload effectively.
Desirable
- Experience with payroll processing or VAT returns.
- Exposure to FX or multi-currency environments.
- Knowledge of Power BI or other management information tools.
- Experience in a financial services, outsourcing, or professional services environment.
