The engineering and operations teams are lean, highly skilled, and building infrastructure and processes that operate at genuine exchange scale.

The Role:

As Market Operations Associate you will provide real-time support to clients and key internal stakeholders, helping to maintain a fair and orderly market and monitoring the stability of the firm's trading systems. You will work directly with clients, engineers, product managers and executive leaders to resolve mission-critical questions as they arise.

This role suits someone adaptive, highly empathetic and motivated to learn, who takes the initiative to understand partners' priorities and guide their adoption of the firm's trading, clearing and data services. You will work in-person hybrid from the Belfast office, on a shift pattern that runs Thursday through Sunday, so weekend working is a core part of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop expertise across trading systems, market functionality, order types and external interfaces.
  • Support market participants, including futures commission merchants, clearing banks and other industry partners on market access and trading, clearing or data services.
  • Synthesise user feedback and coordinate communications when escalating critical system issues to engineering.
  • Monitor system integrity and maintain control of the trading environment.
  • Maintain listed event contracts, ensuring accurate product specifications, trading parameters and settlement terms.
  • Execute and maintain operational procedures across the Market Operations function.
  • Design, build and maintain automation scripts used by the team.
  • Collaborate with Technology Operations, Product Management, Sales, Quality Assurance, Compliance and Regulation.

What You'll Need:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • 1+ years' experience in trade support, quantitative trade consulting, middle-office operations, compliance or system engineering within an institutional trading or exchange environment.
  • Disciplined attention to detail and the initiative to go beyond surface-level answers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly pick up new concepts, for example beginner-level Python or SQL.
  • Availability and commitment to a shift-based schedule covering Thursday to Sunday, including weekends, plus an on-call environment.
  • Right to work in the UK on a permanent, indefinite basis (no visa sponsorship available).

Desirable / Nice to Have:

  • Professional exposure to, or familiarity with, electronic trading or exchanges.
  • Python programming experience, for example writing simple scripts to automate manual processes.
  • Some ability to query large datasets and analyse results.
