The Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified accountant to step into a busy and varied Financial Accountant role on a 9-12 month fixed-term basis. You'll work closely with the wider finance team, taking ownership of key financial reporting, month-end processes and compliance activity. The role is well suited to someone who is immediately available or on a short notice period, thrives in a fast-paced professional environment, and can bring structure and accuracy to a demanding finance function from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Manage month-end close processes including journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and assist with audit processes.
- Produce management reporting packs and variance analysis for senior stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal financial controls.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors and other third parties as required.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial reporting processes and controls.
What You'll Need:
Essential:
- Fully qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Proven experience in a financial accounting role with strong technical grounding.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting, statutory accounts and audit processes.
- Experience of month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and management reporting.
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with senior stakeholders.
- Immediately available or able to start on a short notice period.
- Right to work in the UK and ability to commute to Belfast city centre.
