The Role A hands-on Data Engineer position embedded within a collaborative data lake team, working to build and maintain a secure, centralised data platform that exposes a holistic view of raw, curated and standardised data. You will deliver ETL and ELT ingestion and egress patterns, contribute to API design and implementation, support React frontend development and collaborate on cloud engineering tasks in AWS. This role suits a versatile engineer who is equally comfortable in the data pipeline and contributing to frontend tooling. Key Responsibilities Design, build and maintain ETL and ELT ingestion and egress patterns for the data lake platform Contribute to API design and implementation to enable reliable data access for consuming teams Support React frontend contributions for data discovery and operational tooling Collaborate on cloud architecture and platform engineering tasks in AWS Implement observability instrumentation across pipelines and APIs Work closely with contributing and consuming teams to reduce bottlenecks and improve automation Promote standardised data structures and evangelise correct use of the data lake across the organisation What You'll Need Essential: Hands-on experience with AWS cloud engineering Strong Python skills for data engineering and pipeline development Experience with TypeScript Proven experience delivering ETL or ELT pipelines in a commercial environment Experience with API design and implementation React frontend development skills UK work authorisation Desirable: Experience with Snowflake Familiarity with observability tools including logging, monitoring and tracing Experience with JavaScript Why Apply?
