This is an opportunity to join one of Northern Ireland's most active and well-regarded corporate finance practices, sitting within a top-tier professional services firm with a strong regional presence and an established national and international network. The team has a proven track record of advising on some of the most significant M&A transactions in the Northern Ireland and Irish markets across a wide range of sectors.
This is not a support role. You will be working directly on/leading live transactions from day one, with genuine responsibility and real client contact at a senior level.
Why This Role
Corporate finance at this level in Belfast is rare. The deal flow is strong, the team is experienced and the exposure you will get here - across the full deal lifecycle, working with ambitious owner-managed businesses, private equity and institutional clients - is difficult to replicate elsewhere in the market. You will be involved in everything from early-stage origination and pitch work through to due diligence, financial modelling, valuation, negotiation support and completion. The firm invests seriously in the development of its people and there is a clear pathway from Associate to Senior Associate to Manager and beyond for those who perform.
If you are currently in a Big 4 or mid-tier corporate finance role and looking for a platform where you will get broader deal responsibility, faster progression and a genuine seat at the table on transactions, this is worth a serious look.
The Role
Working as part of a close-knit and high-performing corporate finance team, you will support and lead on a range of M&A advisory, fundraising, MBO and strategic transaction mandates across both buy-side and sell-side engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to M&A transactions across buy-side, sell-side, MBO and fundraising mandates
- Prepare and review financial models, valuations and sensitivity analysis to support transaction decision-making
- Conduct and oversee financial and commercial due diligence across target businesses
- Prepare Information Memoranda, management presentations, pitch documents and client reports
- Manage client relationships and engage directly with senior stakeholders, advisers and counterparties throughout the deal process
- Support business development activity including preparation of proposals and engagement in sector networking
- Mentor and develop more junior members of the team
What You Will Need
- Essential ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification - 2 to 5 years post-qualified experience
- Proven corporate finance experience across M&A transactions in a professional services or advisory environment
- Strong financial modelling and valuation skills
- Experience preparing or contributing to Information Memoranda, due diligence reports or transaction documentation
- Commercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage credibly at senior level
- Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously and deliver to tight deadlines
Desirable
- Sector expertise in one or more of: manufacturing, healthcare, technology, food and drink, energy or real estate
- Experience of cross-border transactions or working with international counterparties
- Prior involvement in business development or client origination activity
What You Will Get
- Exposure to the full M&A deal lifecycle on live, high-profile transactions from day one
- Direct client contact and senior stakeholder engagement at an early stage in your career
- A structured and supportive environment with genuine investment in your development
- Clear progression pathway from Associate through to Senior Associate, Manager and Director level
- Competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience
- Hybrid working from a Belfast city centre base
