Role Overview
As a Junior Java Software Engineer, you'll help develop high-quality, scalable applications as part of a collaborative engineering team reporting to the Head of Engineering. You'll work closely with more senior colleagues and clients to understand technical designs and user stories, while developing your own skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test and maintain Java-based backend solutions
- Work with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs

- Contribute to discussions on technical designs and estimated effort

What You'll Need
Essential:
- 5+ years Java experience
- 2+ years' practical experience with Spring Boot
- Microservices architecture experience
- Experience in 3 or more of: TDD, BDD/Cucumber, performance testing (e.g. JMeter), penetration testing/OWASP, Kubernetes/container orchestration
- Experience designing, creating and calling HTTP APIs
- SQL database experience (e.g. Postgres, MySQL, MariaDB)
- Experience with 3+ AWS services (e.g. EC2, RDS, S3, Route 53, Elasticsearch, EKS, CloudWatch, CloudFront)
- Comfortable working in a team with minimal supervision

- CI/CD pipeline setup and configuration
- NoSQL/document databases
- ELK stack, Apache Kafka
- Spring Security and OAuth2 flows
- React or React Native
- Keycloak, Camunda
- OpenAPI/Swagger, Nginx setup
