Our client is a high-growth digital technology business with over 30 years of experience delivering transformational programmes across government and public sector. They are now looking for an experienced Security Controller to join the team at Consultant level.

This is a senior, cross-functional role sitting at the heart of how the organisation protects its people, its projects, and its compliance obligations. You will own the development and management of physical and personnel security policies, drive a strong security culture, and act as the go-to expert for delivery teams, central functions, and senior stakeholders alike.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading the co-creation and ongoing management of security policies, procedures and protocols
  • Conducting regular security audits and risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and driving corrective actions
  • Managing aftercare activities including Change of Circumstances, Overseas Travel Briefings and Aftercare Incident Reports
  • Maintaining compliance with government security schemes including IPSA and FSC
  • Managing customer security checks and onboarding requirements to ensure staff can mobilise quickly and compliantly
  • Communicating current security threats and required actions to employees and partners
  • Coaching and mentoring colleagues in security best practices
  • Facilitating government and contracting authority visits and inspections
  • Collaborating with Delivery Teams, People functions and Line Managers to implement security lessons learnt

What we are looking for:

  • Current UK security clearance (essential)
  • Deep experience of HMG BPSS and UKSV vetting processes
  • Proven experience creating and implementing physical and personnel security policies
  • Experience in threat and risk management
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Experience coaching others in security best practices
  • Background in MOD, Defence or National Security environments
  • Previous experience as a Security Officer or Security Controller
  • Experience working on client site day to day
  • Involvement in security communities of interest
  • Exposure to a Project Management Office environment
