OCHO is partnering with a product-led technology organisation seeking a Staff-level Frontend / Full Stack Engineer to help shape the future of its product platform and frontend architecture. This is an opportunity to join a highly technical engineering environment where frontend engineering is treated as a strategic capability rather than a support function.
The business is building complex, high-scale product experiences and requires a senior technical leader who can drive architecture, improve engineering standards, and influence product direction. You will operate as a senior individual contributor and technical force multiplier, helping scale frontend systems, component architecture, developer experience, and engineering quality across multiple teams.
The Role
As a Staff Engineer, you will lead the design and evolution of scalable frontend and full stack systems, with particular emphasis on modern React / architecture, design systems, developer tooling, and platform scalability. You will work cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to influence architectural direction and ensure high-quality delivery across multiple product streams.
What You'll Be Doing
- Acting as a Staff-level technical leader across multiple engineering teams
- Driving architecture and best practice across React / TypeScript frontend platforms
- Designing and evolving scalable component libraries / design systems
- Improving developer experience, tooling, and frontend platform standards
- Contributing to backend/full stack architecture where appropriate using Node.js
- Leading technical design discussions and influencing long-term platform direction
- Driving performance, accessibility, maintainability, and scalability initiatives
- Partnering with Product and Design to shape intuitive, scalable product experiences
- Mentoring engineers and raising technical standards across the organisation
- Supporting adoption of AI-assisted development workflows and modern engineering tooling
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- Proven experience operating at Staff / Principal / Lead Engineer level
- Deep expertise in React / TypeScript / Modern Frontend Architecture
- Strong experience designing scalable component libraries / design systems
- Demonstrated experience influencing architecture across multiple teams/products
- Strong understanding of frontend performance, accessibility, and developer experience
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering standards
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capability
Nice to Have
- Full stack/backend exposure with Node.js / APIs / Databases
- Experience with AI/LLM integration or AI-assisted engineering workflows
- Experience with monorepos / Turborepo / Storybook / Modern Tooling
