Operating across multiple international hubs, their technology estate supports highly available, business-critical systems used by major institutions worldwide. Belfast is a strategic engineering centre within the organisation, supporting core infrastructure and communications platforms at global scale.

The Role

This is a senior, highly technical engineering role within a global Voice and AV engineering function. You will play a key role in shaping and transforming enterprise voice, unified communications and collaboration platforms used across international offices and trading environments. You will lead major migration and modernisation initiatives, including cloud adoption for SBC platforms, replacement of legacy voice gateways, and continued evolution of Microsoft Teams voice and AV environments. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys complex infrastructure, large-scale transformation and solving problems in high-availability environments.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a traditional support role. You will be leading enterprise-wide transformation projects, influencing long-term voice strategy, and introducing automation and analytics to improve reliability and operational efficiency. You will work on systems where downtime is not an option, with real responsibility for how global voice and AV services are engineered and delivered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing and supporting enterprise voice solutions across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Leading migration projects including SBC cloud migrations and replacement of legacy voice gateways.
  • Engineering and supporting platforms including AudioCodes SBCs, Cisco CUBEs, unified communications and AV systems.
  • Providing advanced troubleshooting across voice, video, collaboration and conferencing services.
  • Supporting Microsoft Teams voice, Direct Routing and meeting room environments.
  • Developing automation scripts to improve provisioning, monitoring and operational efficiency.
  • Building and maintaining proactive monitoring and alerting frameworks.
  • Acting as L2/L3 escalation point for complex voice and AV incidents.
  • Working within structured change and permit-to-operate processes.
  • Collaborating with engineering and operations teams across multiple global regions.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Strong experience in enterprise voice, unified communications and collaboration platforms.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with AudioCodes SBCs including configuration, migration and cloud deployment.
  • Strong experience with SIP trunking and enterprise telephony best practices.
  • Solid background in IP networking with strong understanding of LAN, WAN and telecom environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications platforms and Cisco CUBEs.
  • Experience replacing or modernising legacy voice gateways.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Teams enterprise voice and Direct Routing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layer voice and network issues.
  • Comfortable operating in structured, regulated, high-availability environments.

Certifications

CCNP or equivalent Cisco Voice / Collaboration certification required.

Nice to Have

  • Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Python or Bash.
  • Experience with digital signage or IPTV platforms in enterprise AV environments.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Teams Rooms and modern workplace collaboration tooling.
  • Experience applying automation or analytics to voice and network operations.
  • Strong project delivery experience alongside engineering responsibilities.

Working Pattern

Occasional out-of-hours and weekend work will be required to support major changes and migration activities.

Who This Suits

This role suits an experienced Voice or Unified Communications Engineer who wants to move beyond day-to-day support into enterprise-wide transformation, cloud migration and strategic platform evolution, while remaining deeply hands-on with complex technical environments.
