The Role
This is fundamentally a software engineering role for someone who understands security. You’ll be embedded in a team that bridges engineering and compliance — building Python‑based solutions to streamline vulnerability management and leveraging the latest security tooling across a cloud‑native AWS environment. Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Python‑based solutions to security engineering challenges across the SDLC
- Work with AWS security tooling — Security Hub, IAM, and equivalents — to maintain a secure, well‑monitored environment
- Maintain security data products including SBOM, asset inventory, and SIEM
- Identify and trial new security tooling, particularly in the AI space
- Monitor, triage, and elevate security threats; document incidents and indicators of compromise
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to embed secure‑by‑design practices
- Contribute to architectural decisions and help build scalable, cost‑optimised solutions
What You’ll Need
- Strong Python development experience — this is the primary language for the role
- Solid AWS knowledge, ideally including security‑focused services
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Linux environments
- An interest in and understanding of security principles — OWASP, threat modelling, vulnerability management
- Comfortable working with data to validate and support decisions
- Experience with SQL and security data products
- Exposure to AI/ML tooling or prompt security
- Security certification (AWS Security Specialty, CISSP, CEH, or similar)
