The Role:
This is a senior front-end engineering position sitting within a collaborative, design-conscious team. You will be building high-quality, performant user interfaces across client projects and internal products - working closely with back-end engineers, UX designers, and visual designers to deliver polished, accessible experiences that meet a consistently high bar. The work is technically varied: complex front-end architectures, server-side-rendered and statically-generated applications, API-connected UI layers, and component libraries built to last.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing and building responsive, accessible, mobile-first interfaces using HTML, CSS, SASS, and TypeScript.
- Developing production-grade React applications, including SSR, App Router, and data fetching patterns.
- Building and maintaining reusable component libraries with a focus on scalability, accessibility, and clean semantic code.
- Translating Figma and Adobe XD designs into pixel-perfect, production-ready UI.
- Connecting front-end layers to REST and GraphQL APIs in close collaboration with back-end teams.
- Writing clean, testable code and maintaining front-end test suites using Jest.
- Optimising for performance, scalability, and smooth user interactions.
- Communicating design and implementation decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What You'll Need:
Essential:- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.
- Proven experience building production React applications.
- Solid understanding of responsive, adaptive, and mobile-first design.
- Experience with design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.
- Understanding of UI/UX principles and how they influence implementation.
- Understanding of SEO principles relevant to front-end engineering.
- Familiarity with accessibility (a11y) standards and best practices.
- Experience with bundling and build tools such as Webpack or Babel.
- Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system.
The Package:
£50,000 - £70,000 depending on experience. EMI share options (HMRC-approved). Remote-first with Belfast and UK co-working access. 25 days annual leave.
