About the Company
Our client is a modern, cloud-native digital consultancy delivering composable commerce solutions and data-driven digital experiences for well-known retail and e-commerce brands. A ~50-person, highly experienced, remote-first team, scaling steadily and delivering complex, fast-moving projects across multiple client landscapes.
Role Overview
This is a functional testing role at heart, and that's by design. You'll be the person who understands how systems behave end-to-end - validating features, tracing data through integrations, and catching what automation alone would miss. There's future scope to get involved in automation as the QA function matures, but this role is being hired for strong manual/functional testing expertise first and foremost - candidates should be genuinely comfortable owning that remit rather than treating it as a stopgap.
Key Responsibilities
- Create structured, comprehensive manual test cases from business requirements and user stories
- Execute functional, UI, integration, and regression test cases across releases
- Validate new features and bug fixes against acceptance criteria
- Conduct end-to-end integration testing across multi-component systems
- Test APIs, data flows, and third-party integrations for correct behaviour
- Identify, document, and work with engineering to resolve integration issues
- Collaborate cross-functionally to assess the quality impact of system changes
- Feed into sprint ceremonies with quality-focused insight
- Provide clear, timely feedback on release readiness and quality risk
- Support ongoing improvement of QA processes and tooling
What You'll Need
Essential:
- 8+ years in manual/functional software testing, with strong integration testing experience in complex, multi-component systems
- Hands-on experience with Postman, Jira (or equivalent), and API/integration testing
- Solid grounding in QA fundamentals, including regression testing, SDLC, and Agile delivery
Desirable:
- ISTQB or similar certification
- Exposure to API automation fundamentals or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
Benefits & Package
£60,000-£80,000 depending on experience, EMI share options, 8% matched pension, BUPA private healthcare, 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, training and development budget, fully remote working.
