Our client, a Global technology-led organisation with a major engineering presence in Belfast, is now expanding its high-performing Cloud Engineering team. Operating as a centre of excellence within a global technology function, the Belfast team delivers critical infrastructure supporting a large-scale, high-traffic, multi-regional platform. This is a senior-level role suited to an experienced Cloud/DevOps Engineer who thrives on ownership, autonomy, and solving complex infrastructure challenges.
The Role: You'll join a small, senior Cloud Engineering team supporting ~90 engineers globally. This is not a ticket-driven SRE role, instead, you'll take ownership of significant infrastructure initiatives including:
- Multi-region AWS architecture (US East & US West)
- Kubernetes platform management and upgrades
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Networking, VPC design and platform architecture
- CDN and performance optimisation projects
- Cloud tooling evaluation and proof-of-concepts
You'll be trusted to lead projects, influence architectural decisions and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
Experience:
- 5+ years' experience in Cloud / DevOps Engineering
- Strong AWS and Terraform experience
- Hands-on Kubernetes knowledge
- Solid understanding of networking, VPCs and infrastructure design
- Development mindset (JavaScript preferred, Python beneficial)
- Comfortable owning and leading infrastructure projects
- Strong communicator who can explain the 'why' behind technical decisions
Based in Northern Ireland (no sponsorship available)
Working Model: Hybrid / remote-first environment
Belfast office available (no mandated days)
On-call rota approx. once every 10 weeks (incidents rare)
