A fast-scaling technology business, winning new clients at pace and building out the infrastructure needed to support that growth. This is a business on a genuinely strong upward trajectory, and this role has been newly created to support it, not a backfill.
This is a genuinely hands-on role for a newly qualified accountant, with direct exposure to the C-suite. Reporting to the COO, you'll take ownership of month-end and year-end close and lead the preparation of board-level reporting. It's a strong fit for someone trained in either practice or industry who wants real technical ownership early in their career, working inside a fast-scaling tech business. Given the pace of growth, the client is looking to have someone in place as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full month-end close process with complete ownership from start to finish
- Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
- Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain and strengthen financial controls across the business
- Lead the year-end process and act as primary liaison with external auditors
- Prepare year-end statutory reporting and supporting schedules
- Ensure a smooth, well-documented year-end audit process
- Prepare monthly board reporting packs with clear, meaningful commentary
- Support variance analysis against budget and forecast for board-level reporting
- Present financial performance and key metrics in a clear, board-ready format
The Person
- Newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Experience preparing management accounts, ideally end-to-end
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with a solid grip on financial controls
- Confident reporting to and presenting for senior stakeholders
- Highly organised, self-directed, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment
