About the Company

A well-established, PE-backed financial services business operating across the UK and internationally, providing specialist outsourcing services to lenders, asset managers and financial institutions. Fast-paced and commercially driven, with a strong finance function at its core.

The Role

An 11-month fixed term contract opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a busy finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director. You will take ownership of day-to-day financial operations across financial reporting, budgeting, payroll and audit support - a broad, hands-on role with real visibility at the top of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and process daily transactions including expenses, revenue and bank deposits.
  • Prepare financial statements including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow reports for Board and management.
  • Lead budget preparation and management, monitoring expenditure and investigating variances against forecast.
  • Use historical data and financial trends to forecast future financial performance.
  • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and relevant accounting standards.
  • Support financial audits by providing documentation and explanations to auditors.
  • Assist with payroll including calculation of salaries, deductions and tax withholdings.
  • Utilise accounting software and tools to streamline financial processes and maintain data accuracy.

What You Will Need

Essential

  • Fully qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, SAP, Oracle or similar) and advanced Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with HMRC regulations and payroll obligations.
  • VAT and FX exposure.
  • Power BI or similar reporting tool experience.
  • Board reporting experience.
