The Role

This is a senior leadership position for an experienced Data Scientist who wants to combine technical delivery with people development and client engagement. You will lead complex AI and machine learning engagements from end to end, while also coaching and growing a team of Data Scientists. Working closely with customers to shape solutions and influence technical strategy, this role suits someone who thrives equally in the weeds of a data problem and in front of a client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of advanced analytics, machine learning and AI projects across multiple client engagements.
  • Work directly with clients to understand business challenges and design effective, scalable solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction across concurrent workstreams.
  • Mentor and coach Data Scientists, supporting their professional growth and development.
  • Contribute to solution design, project planning and the preparation of customer proposals.
  • Drive continuous improvement in tools, methodologies and delivery standards across the team.
  • Own and maintain best practice frameworks for Data Science delivery.

What You'll Need

Essential:

  • Strong commercial experience delivering Data Science and AI solutions in a professional environment.
  • Proven track record leading projects, teams or technical workstreams.
  • Proficiency in Python or R, alongside SQL.
  • Hands-on experience applying machine learning techniques to real-world business problems.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset with a genuine commitment to developing others.
  • UK work authorisation.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Generative AI, NLP, Computer Vision or Deep Learning.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms and modern MLOps practices.
  • MSc or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline.
