The Role:

This is a great opportunity for a Java Developer looking to build on their commercial experience within a supportive, well-structured engineering team. You will work on real, live systems from day one, contributing to backend development, APIs, and application features. Whether you are a recent graduate with some commercial exposure or a developer a few years into your career, this role offers genuine variety, mentorship, and a clear path to progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Java-based applications and backend services.
  • Build and consume REST APIs as part of broader system integrations.
  • Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.
  • Contribute to code reviews and ongoing improvement of engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and stakeholders across the delivery lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects and technical issues.
  • Support deployment and testing activities within an Agile environment.

What You'll Need:

Essential:

  • Commercial or project-based experience with Java.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Some exposure to REST APIs and web services.
