The Role

This is a hands-on technical leadership position for someone who enjoys spanning infrastructure, cloud and applications while acting as the link between business needs and technical delivery. You will lead the delivery and ongoing support of key IT services across both project and operational settings, taking ownership as technical lead and service owner. The work brings strong exposure to cloud technologies, enterprise systems and wider IT transformation, with the autonomy to influence how solutions are built. It suits a pragmatic problem solver who is comfortable working across internal teams, group technology functions and external partners alike.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of IT solutions across the full project lifecycle
  • Translate business requirements into clear technical solutions and architecture
  • Provide direction through design, implementation and go-live phases
  • Own key systems as IT service and application owner
  • Support cloud readiness, migration and infrastructure deployment
  • Maintain and evolve application and infrastructure roadmaps
  • Act as the technical interface between business units and wider IT teams
  • Manage third-party vendors and represent IT in governance forums
  • Assess technical risk and contribute to secure, resilient solution design
  • Champion modern engineering practices including Agile and DevOps

What You'll Need

Essential:

  • Proven experience delivering IT solutions within a project or change environment
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies and enterprise infrastructure
  • Experience across the full IT delivery lifecycle, ideally within Agile
  • Ability to assess technical risk and support secure solution design
  • Working knowledge of operational resilience, disaster recovery and continuity
  • Confident engaging stakeholders, vendors and group-level technology teams

Desirable / Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Familiarity with DevOps tooling and practices
  • Background in financial services or another regulated environment
