Join an early-stage, newly funded EdTech SaaS platform and help shape their product roadmap. Direct collaboration with the co-founder, with real ownership from day one.

About the Company

Our client is a UK-based EdTech SaaS platform helping schools strengthen the connection between teachers and parents, spanning parent-teacher meeting scheduling, video calls, pupil data and MIS integration. A small, ambitious team, they have just closed a fundraising round and are scaling their product and engineering function. They are ISO27001 certified and take data handling and security seriously across everything they build.

The Role

This is a core engineering role within a small, funded EdTech business, working fully remotely from Northern Ireland. You will work across the full stack, React (TypeScript) on the front end and Node.js (TypeScript) on the back end, backed by Postgres and running on AWS. This isn't a role where you're handed a ticket and told exactly what to build; you'll understand the why behind a feature, decide the best approach, build it well and make sure it works before it goes near production. You'll collaborate directly with a non-technical co-founder, so clear communication matters as much as clean code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain front-end interfaces using React 19 and React Router v7, delivering a polished experience for teachers and parents.
  • Develop and extend back-end services using Node.js 22, including integrations with third-party platforms such as Wonde, Postmark, Twilio and Daily.
  • Take features from concept through to deployment, scoping, building, testing and releasing with minimal hand-holding.
  • Own QA for your own work, testing rigorously across devices and edge cases.
  • Collaborate directly with the co-founder on priorities, product direction and technical decisions.
  • Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues and technical debt proactively.
  • Review code via GitHub PRs, maintaining high standards across the codebase.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions as the platform scales.
  • Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK and containerisation (Docker, Fargate, ECS/ECR).

What You'll Need

Essential:

  • 5+ years' professional experience in full-stack or front-end-heavy development.
  • Strong React 19 / React Router v7 (TypeScript), including hooks, state management and component architecture.
  • Solid Node.js 22 (TypeScript) back-end experience, with RESTful API design and integration.
  • SQL and Postgres v16+ experience, including Drizzle ORM and lightweight Postgres drivers.
  • AWS infrastructure-as-code experience (AWS CDK) and containerisation (Docker, Fargate, ECS/ECR).
  • Hands-on with core AWS services: RDS, S3 and CloudWatch.
  • Git/GitHub, PR-based workflow, and experience setting up CI/CD pipelines.
  • A proven track record shipping production-quality code in a SaaS or product environment.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, comfortable working asynchronously with a UK-based team.

Desirable / Nice to Have:

  • Experience with EdTech or SaaS products serving the UK education sector.
  • Familiarity with WebRTC/video integrations, AI integrations, or payment platforms such as Stripe or Chargebee.

Why Apply?

  • Up to £50,000 salary.
  • Fully remote working.
  • Genuine ownership of a growing product at an early, exciting stage.
  • Direct collaboration with the co-founder, with your input shaping direction.
  • A small team culture built on trust, honesty and high standards.
  • Backed by fresh funding, with real room to grow alongside the company.
  • An ISO27001-certified business with a serious, considered approach to data security.
