The Role

A high-impact hybrid role combining hands-on technical leadership with strategic consulting and business development. You will shape and deliver Data and AI opportunities across a major public sector portfolio, working with senior technology and account leaders to design solutions that drive real outcomes. Alongside pre-sales, you will operate as a Lead Data Architect on delivery programmes, providing architecture design, assurance and subject matter expertise end to end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead early-stage client engagements including discovery sessions and workshops with senior public sector stakeholders.
  • Develop compelling bid responses, proposals and presentations in collaboration with account teams.
  • Create reusable Data and AI accelerators and offerings to support pre-sales and delivery.
  • Act as Lead Data Architect within delivery programmes, owning technical design, data modelling, metadata management and governance.
  • Provide technical leadership and assurance across delivery teams, ensuring alignment with best practice and client objectives.
  • Advise clients on technology selection and define information handling models across complex data platforms.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across complex, multi-organisation client environments.
  • Lead, motivate and develop individuals within the Data and AI practice.

What You'll Need

Essential:

  • Experience as a Data or AI consultant in a client-facing role, including pre-sales and opportunity shaping.
  • Strong technical expertise across data modelling, metadata management, data transformation, migration and governance.
  • Proven track record delivering or assuring large-scale Data or AI programmes within the public sector.
  • Ability to lead complex delivery programmes including mentoring, standards development and architecture assurance.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at C-level and Director-level.
  • Broad technology knowledge across data platforms, integration, analytics, AI/ML, governance and cloud.
  • Experience working across the full sales lifecycle from shaping through to close.

Desirable:

  • Experience with UK central government, arms-length bodies or devolved administrations.
  • Familiarity with public sector procurement and framework-based sales.
  • Experience designing or delivering large-scale data platforms or secure data environments.
  • Understanding of GenAI and large language model applications in a public sector context.
  • Enterprise Data Architecture experience.
  • Experience developing go-to-market offerings or reusable delivery assets.
