The Role
This is a Director level appointment within a highly regarded and growing audit and assurance practice, with a clear and structured pathway to Partner. You will take full strategic ownership of a large and complex client portfolio, lead the most significant engagements in the practice and play a central role in driving the commercial growth and direction of the team. This is a role for an experienced audit leader who is ready to operate at the highest level, build lasting client relationships and step into a Partner role in the near term.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and strategically manage a large, complex portfolio of clients spanning entrepreneurial businesses, large groups and US listed entities.
- Lead and take ultimate responsibility for audit quality across all engagements within your portfolio.
- Act as the primary trusted advisor to C-suite and board level stakeholders across your client base.
- Drive business development activity including high value pitches, tenders and strategic new client acquisition.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of audit professionals at all levels.
- Manage commercial performance across your portfolio including WIP, billing, fee negotiation and profitability.
- Contribute at leadership level to the strategic direction, growth and positioning of the audit practice.
- Represent the firm externally at industry events, forums and networks to build profile and pipeline.
What You'll Need
Essential:
- ACA or ACCA qualified with 10+ years of post-qualification experience.
- Technically exceptional across Irish and UK GAAP and auditing standards.
- Experience auditing US listed companies or entities with SEC reporting obligations.
- Proven track record of owning and growing a significant client portfolio at Director or Senior Manager level.
- Strong business development credentials including pitching and winning new clients.
- Right to work in Northern Ireland.
Desirable:
- IFRS experience.
- Big 4 or large mid-tier background.
- Experience across a broad range of sectors including financial services, manufacturing or public sector.
