About the Company:
Our client is a well-established specialist manufacturer based in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, operating across complex production, supply chain, and engineering environments. A business with a strong engineering heritage and serious investment in its digital future, they are now undertaking a significant ERP transformation programme centred on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. This is a technically ambitious programme with broad scope across manufacturing, finance, procurement, and operations.
The Role:
As ERP Solutions Architect, you will be the technical authority for the end-to-end Dynamics 365 F&O implementation. You will define the architecture, shape the integration strategy, lead technical design workshops, and ensure the solution is fit for purpose across a complex manufacturing environment. Working alongside internal stakeholders, operations teams, and external implementation partners, you will guide the programme from design through to delivery. This role is for a seasoned architect who can operate at both a strategic and hands-on level, and who understands the nuances of manufacturing-sector ERP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and own the end-to-end solution architecture for the Dynamics 365 F&O implementation.
- Define ERP architecture including integrations, data flows, system dependencies, and solution components.
- Ensure the solution supports core manufacturing capabilities including production planning, BOM, shop floor control, inventory, procurement, PLM, and CRM.
- Lead solution design workshops and technical reviews with internal teams and implementation partners.
- Provide architectural guidance for migration from Sage Line 500 and other legacy systems.
- Define data migration strategy, system rationalisation approach, and process redesign principles.
- Drive integration architecture using Azure Integration Services and related Microsoft technologies.
- Ensure adherence to Microsoft best practices throughout design and delivery.
- Maintain solution documentation and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and finance teams to align the solution with business processes.
What You'll Need:
Essential:
- Proven experience as an ERP Solution Architect or Senior ERP Consultant.
- Hands-on experience delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or Dynamics AX implementations.
- Strong knowledge of integration architecture using Azure Integration Services.
- Understanding of manufacturing business processes: production planning, BOM, inventory, procurement, supply chain.
- Experience with data migration strategy and execution within ERP programmes.
- Experience managing mixed internal and external delivery teams.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across technical and business audiences.
- Degree in Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
Desirable / Nice to Have:
- Experience migrating from Sage ERP (Sage 200, Sage X3, or Sage Line 500) to Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Exposure to Power Apps, Dataverse, or Azure DevOps.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 certification or equivalent.
